Tricked the cutest seven year old into practicing math facts during the littles nap!
P.S. I still cannot breathe! And I killed some brain cells playing this game!
*This finishes my blogging catch up….five new posts in a row!
Tate has been home three short weeks, and is already saying SO many words!
The other day he held up his hands and said “Where did Joe B go?” (Lane’s nickname is Joe B!)
He is starting to ask for water or milk instead of using the sign “drink!”
It seems like his English is just taking off – and he always repeats anything you ask him to.
We have been teaching him his name!
Check this out:
My personal favorite is when I am about to tell Tate no, and he says “Tate, No, No!” first!
Little charmer you are, Tate!
We love you Tate Owen!!
Good job on all your new words!!
See these two celebrities precious people?
They took it upon themselves to make sure Grant and Addie had a proper birthday party.
“Proper” based on the birthday traditions we have around here.
They took the middles and the littles shopping for the rest of the gifts, party décor, and all of the food.
They helped the middles and the littles wrap the gifts, decorated the house, and made all the food.
Somewhere in the middle of wrapping the gifts back in Blake and my bedroom, Kayla looked at me and said “Mom, I don’t know how you do all this!”
Many years of practice, sweet girl. Your turn is a coming!
Wrapping gifts was a smidge crazy as there was just SO much excitement!
The birthday party was a HIT.
And I know Grant and Addie were super blessed, as were their Mom and Dad for all that David and Kayla did for them.
Following tradition, Grant picked his meal – steak, shrimp, baked yams, and green beans and bacon.
This was his first plate!
Just saying.
There was party attire to be worn.
There were gifts to be opened!
A new thermos for Grant. Because we eat lots of soup. And his soup needs to be “to go.”
Some sweet treats. That were immediately hidden from suspecting snitchers.
Oh my. WE LOVE YOU TWO SO MUCH!!
There was dessert, of course. Made by Addie Mae, of course! Delicious, of course!
Addie Mae had a little celebration on Thursday as well, even though David and Grant could not join us.
Staying with tradition, she needed to pick her own meal!
Shrimp basil fettuccine, homemade rolls, and a tossed salad with homemade ranch dressing!
I managed to pull all of that off, even though I was falling fast on Thursday evening.
There was an ice cream cake, made by Addie Mae, of course! Poor girl made her own birthday cake….but I can assure you, she didn’t mind!
There is also the birthday tradition of breakfast out with their Dad. Addie Mae and Blake enjoyed their date, and Grant and Blake’s breakfast date has been postponed because of illness.
Just so I wouldn’t get in trouble, I stood up and made Kayla stand up to take this belly shot. Everyone hollered at me for standing up! But I had you all in mind!
Thirty-one weeks and glowing!!! My beautiful girl!
What a fun birthday celebration for two very special kiddos!!
Happy Birthday Grant and Addie Mae!!
*David and Kayla saying thank you for all you have done these past days does not seem like enough. We love you three!!
