Tate’s Prayer

At our dinner table, we always all hold hands and say a prayer before we eat.

We take turns being the one to say the prayer over our meal, our day, our family.

Tate and Eliza have both been asking to be the ones to pray lately!

We prompt them with very simple words to repeat, but their hearts are SO sweet.

Here is Tate’s prayer:

These children are SUCH JOY!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone!!

It’s Thanksgiving Tomorrow!

In preparation for Thanksgiving, these guys were loaded very early yesterday morning to meet their fate.

See that big guy there?

He weighed in at 34 pounds!

Oh, how I love the views from this ridge!

003

Now those guys look like this!

Nothing, nothing like a farm fresh turkey roasting in your oven on Thanksgiving day!

Thanks, Chad, for being a good sport for this photo!

This also happened.

Peanut butter pie!

Cause Addie Mae is our daughter.

It was FANTASTIC.

Grain-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and only two tablespoons of sugar (maple syrup) in the whole pie!

That’s why I ate more than one piece. Yep.

I will add these for your viewing pleasure!

We are looking forward, Lord willing, to a weekend of family, friends, fellowship, games, good food and some time serving our community!

SO much to be thankful for!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

Why, Hello.

Why hello there teeny tiny little corner of this huge wide web!

How are you all today?!

I hope you are having a great day.

We are!

Things have been quiet around here – but we must take into consideration that I do not have a voice, and we also have a four year old with a severe concussion.

I spent the weekend home with Tate – who is doing well. He sleeps more than usual, says his head hurts once in a while, and does not like noise at ALL. He did not like noise before because of the shunt in his head. But now he does not even like the noise of the furnace running. Poor boy.

He is still as smiley and dimply as ever!

On Saturday the rest of the family went to the MOST anticipated outing since Tate has been home – a wedding reception of our dearest friend. It was an hour and a half away at the most beautiful place my family says they have ever seen. I will just have to believe them, because not a one of them took one single photo. I know!! Crazy people who all have cell phones…..ahem.

Yesterday after the family returned home from church, Blake and I headed out on a shopping date!

Our pantry was BARE, and I had a gazillion other errands that needed done – like dropping off my wedding ring to have the prongs fixed that were broken. Important stuff!

Blake introduced himself to me as “the good looking guy in our wedding photos.” Good one, honey.

It snowed here on Friday night. So beautiful! Why didn’t someone tell me it is the middle of November?! Most of it has melted already though. (I just took these photos this morning.)

We had two little people (well three, actually) who were clear excited about the snow! Tate told us, with his professional charades moves, that he wanted to go out to make snowballs. He remembers snow!! The only problem was that their Mama is still living in September and did not have any snow clothes for either of them. They were so happy when Blake and I got home from shopping with what they need.

In other news, we have been taking care of our grand pup. Speaking of pups, I am very sad to say that our lab, Lexi, is not doing well at all and we think her time left with us will be short.

007

I stopped as I came down our lane one evening, well, just because of this.

I also have been working on a huge project (that I will share more about later) that has been SO good and SO healing for me, for Tate, and for Eliza.

Thanksgiving is Thursday! Addie made these cuties with the kids.

012

I have been doing a lot of this lately. BEST. JOB. EVER.

We are plugging along with school, even through all the crazy, crazy! So thankful today for school plugging along, for a pantry full of grocery again, for littles playing at my feet, for a great date with my mate yesterday, and, Lord willing, for the hope of a very relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.
