Being NaiNai

I can’t seem to find the words.

Being NaiNai just keeps getting better ALL the time.

River Salem is a gentle, calm, sweet baby!

His name means “river of peace.”

He is already living up to his name!

I cannot wait to get to know him better and better!

We will be across the street soon, precious boy!

I know we will treasure this wonderful season of life with you River!

NaiNai loves you!!

The Babies and Some Moving News

Our plan for the labor and delivery of David and Kayla’s precious River Salem was for Addie Mae to take care of Clyde and little Miss E – whom we call “the babies.”

Addie is now staying with David and Kayla indefinitely to help out there!

The first few mornings once Kayla was back home from the birth center, Addie brought the babies to the farm to spend the day here!

It was SUCH A JOY to have them here, as always!

I have a soft spot for them both, but especially that little miss!

She may have that figured out too, and tries to use it to her advantage!

I just savored the time we got to spend with them – it is just so super special!

The gnats are SO bad here right now, but we sprayed vanilla all over our heads and played outside anyway!

Sweet babies – your NaiNai loves you SO much!!!

SO – about that moving news!

We do not have a house to buy and we have to be off the farm mid to late July (do not have a definite date just yet), so we are out of time to purchase a home at this point anyway.

We have seriously looked into building a small, modest 1500 square foot home – and may still do that, but felt like we needed to step back and “take a breath.”

We have been approved for and have put a deposit down on a duplex to rent with a three month lease.

Want to know THE BEST PART?

It is right across the street from our grandbabies!!!!!!

Oh, and their parents too, of course!

Rentals are VERY hard to come by right now – and one across the street from our favorite people, with a three month lease, that will hold nine people and most of their stuff???

I would say that is the Lord smiling down on us.

Thank you, Jesus.

It is going to be VERY hard to drive away from this farm.

It makes my stomach throb to even think about it.

But the fact that we will be next door to our people?

It is keeping our smiles BRIGHT, for sure!!

We get possession of that duplex on June 30th, just a mere three weeks away.

I better get this place packed up – wouldn’t you say?!

If you would be willing to pray for us over this next month, we would be ever so grateful!!

Avoiding Reality

There is MUCH to do these days…..but sometimes you just need to avoid reality and HAVE SOME FUN!

The pool has always been a huge treat for us – and this year is no exception!

If you follow along on Instagram stories, which is where I post photos (and videos) the most, you have already seen these photos.

I still would like them here in my little scrapbook!

What a beautiful day it was yesterday!

And SO fun to spend time just relaxing together!

There is much to do, yes, but so glad we took time to have some summer fun!

Our Sweet Zoe

The month that we moved to Wisconsin over 15 years ago, Zoe joined our family.

She was a six week old Boston Terrier/Shih Tzu puppy at that time.

She has been the BEST family pet.

So smart, faithful, cuddly, gentle, tolerant, and obedient.

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our Zoe.

There were many tears, and Zoe will be greatly missed.

We are not used to the fact that she is gone yet, but we know with time our hearts will heal.

Blake and Grant buried Zoe next to Lexi on this farm that we love so very much.

We miss you Zo, Zo. And always loved you so very much.
