It’s A Snow Day!

Last night around 9 p.m. it started snowing here!

We have been living under a sheet of ice until about a week ago when things started melting.

As thankful as we were for the ice to be melting, it left everything very muddy, dirty and yucky looking.

We were very excited to hear a snow storm was on its way!

As usual, our accumulation here on the ridge is a lot more than down in town.

I bet we will have a foot of snow out there when it finally stops snowing!

Instead of having read aloud this morning with the kiddos, I announced we were headed outside to play!

I wish you could have heard the CHEERS!

This snow is heavy!

And very, very packable!

Is that a word?

We wanted to sled – but there is so much snow out there our sleds would not go anywhere!

It was still SO fun to play in, and I bet we head back out there after naps again too!

What a beautiful, beautiful day!

Happy snow day from here in southwest Wisconsin!!

This is so beautiful! All the fresh snow is what I love about winter. I am glad you are better and got to enjoy it too! I am sure the kids were thrilled. Mine are still waiting.

South of NY state has no snow on the ground this year. I don’t remember that ever happening. Even last winter we had some at this point.

We got snow a few times. We even had white Christmas, but it all melted away. Usually, at this time of the year we worry about the size of the banks around our driveway and how high we will have to pile the snow after the next storm.

We got so much rain and some ice (that has melted) this week. Had it been a few degrees less, it could have been the snow storm of the season.

Enjoy!!! And keep posting those lovely snow pictures!

Lucie, What is with the weather this year? We have had more rain than snow too – and that dreadful ice! This snow was PERFECT to play in and it was finally above zero to do so! Hope you all get some soon so the kiddos can play!
