Spring Has NOT Sprung

It is still very cold here. The wind chill was three below zero yesterday morning. I dream of putting away all the snow clothes, coats, hats, mittens and boots. Apparently that is not going to happen any time soon, as Blake literally got stuck in this driving home from work on Monday. It took some sand, a shovel, and about 20 minutes for him to get up the hill only one mile away.

So, we continue our winter-like life.

We will be picking up Kayla at the airport later today! I hope she is ready to return to our winter wonderland!

Kayla’s Great Snow Escape

Even though she almost did not get to escape our very winter like March because of several inches of snow….the Lord worked out all the last minute flight changes, at the very last minute!

So we bid our farewells, and sweet Kayla is soaking up spring in southern Missouri with dear friends for the next week.

We miss you, KK!!

The Stink of Spring

Although it has not been warm enough here yet to really qualify for a post about spring, the smell of our spring cleaning in the barn is one that you just never will forget….

Or the boys who wear the smell on every part of their being as they re-enter the house after the spring cleaning is done.

I think these stinky boys drug 40 or more loads out of the barn by hand since the tractor is still in many pieces all over the shop floor since last fall! But the stink is no more….in the barn, or on the boys. I made them strip at the back door and then I put all the stink right into the wash machine as they headed to the showers.

Spring cleaning is good! The animals are happy, and the hard workers were well rewarded with homemade frozen banana, peanut butter, chocolate chip “chunky monkey” blizzards. Spring, we are ready for you!
