We just got an e-mail from our sweet caseworker that said “Call me when you get this! I want to hear the screams! I don’t care that it is late!”

Scream I did!! Everyone thought something was VERY wrong! But this was just the best gift God could have given us to end this day!

The garden hose and inches of rain we received filled our pool quickly!

On Sunday.

Yesterday these crazy boys were swimming in that ice cold pool.

I stood right there the whole time to make sure they literally didn’t freeze. Because that’s what Mama’s of boys do.

Yep. Boys will be boys!

Yesterday we took a break from working on the farm to go and enjoy the Blue Angels! They were in Onalaska as part of Air Fest 2014 which is only 35 minutes from the farm.

Lane took watching the air show very seriously, binoculars and all!

Of course we brought lots of snacks!

Someone very special joined us too!

It was a beautiful, clear and sunny day!

I have been struggling with a sinus infection so I sat back in the shade of a tree to keep cooler. Sweet Lane checked on me often!

We were just on the side of the road along the river. It was free to watch from there!

The noise of the planes is exhilarating!! Chad and Lane asked lots of questions. I was always looking the wrong direction because they sounded like they were in a different place than they really were!

What a fun field trip on a beautiful day! Thankfully we did not wait until today to go and watch them fly, because it has been raining buckets for hours now. We are thankful for the rain! Saved us hours of watering today! And God is helping us fill our swimming pool! I love to see His hand in all things!!

We may have pretty rough winters here in SW Wisconsin. But oh my….it makes these beautiful summer days seem like a dream come true! Wish you all could see the bright blue sky, feel the warm northern sun mixed with the light breeze, and smell the crisp clean air…..um, um. I walked the farm trying to capture the feeling in photos, but they just don’t do it justice!

This little guy, Otis, was not doing so well this winter. He has recovered nicely and will be moved to the pasture with his buddies soon!

And here is the real proof of how good summer really is…be still my heart.
