Nesting!!!

My “gonna be a new mama” instincts have kicked in, and we are spending a rainy day nesting! So thankful for the rain! And all my smiling good helpers that make work a blast!!

Kayla is running errands for me, sweet girl. She will be back soon!

This little man just woke up! At 9:30 a.m.! Slept twelve hours last night! It was finally hot here yesterday, and we worked outside most of the day and then swam. After cleaning ourselves up we had a quick dinner and headed to church for a special drama presentation – it was awesome! But a big day and a late night made for a sleepy boy!

Our caseworker called me yesterday – with an e-mail warning first that the phone call was coming and it was not any big news! She knows me too well! I don’t breathe when I see her number on my cell phone!! Sweet girl read scripture to me that was on her heart and then prayed over me and the whole family. I am going to need to hug her someday. Hopefully someday soon, very soon.

Break is over! Back to nesting mama mode!!

Article 5!!!

Started this beautiful day with an e-mail from the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou saying that they have finished processing our Article 5 and it is ready to be returned to our facilitator!! YIPEEEEE!!!

We are now waiting on those two long awaited words – TRAVEL APPROVAL!!!!

Please pray with us! This journey has been so long, but it is truly JUST beginning!!!!

The 411

Blake knows when I call him at work and say “Hi, honey. How is your day?” that there is more to this call than checking on how his day is going.

Smart man, he is.

So he will immediately say, “Just give me the 411.”

This last three weeks the 411 has been an amazing amount of broken things. Daily. Broken. Things!

The plug under the sink to the dishwasher. New one brought home. Grant replaced it.

The push mower top literally blew off. A new part was brought home. The boys fixed it.

The front right tire of the rider mower blew. Kayla took it to town, it is fixed, and Grant put it back on.

The tail gate fell off the pick up truck. Grant tried to fix it, and broke the bolt level. Blake helped fix Grant’s fix. It is fixed.

Grant and I. Both needed a doctor. Antibiotics are helping us both. We are getting better!

The steering rod to the rider mower broke. Ordered that part on line. It is fixed.

The control box on the water tank to our water well. Needed professionals for that one. It was very pricey, but we were SO glad to have water again!

The height control for the deck of the rider mower broke. Blake made a new part for that one, and it is fixed.

The front right tire on the mini van. It split. Thankful for God’s protection for me during that whole mess! Farm & Fleet saved the day.

The passenger door handle on the pick up truck came off. In Lane’s hand. Strong boy. Ordered a new one, and the guys fixed that.

One of the air conditioner units. Was full of black mold. Not fixable. Blake brought home a new one. Haven’t run it yet, because it is far from hot here. But it looks nice!

The starter motor on the rider mower broke. Ordered the part. Fixed it.

The big tractor is still in a thousand parts all over the shop. Do I dare ask if it is fixable?

Don’t know what we would do all day without something broken. Ha, ha!

All in a good day!! The boys are learning so much!

Seeing Red!!!

Look what the boys brought to me yesterday –

It was SO yummy and sweet!! I think we will be seeing red here by the end of this week!!

We have been busy running around this past week! But Blake and I finished the week with a lovely Friday night date, just the two of us. It has been a nice work day here on the farm today, and we are looking forward to celebrating Blake on Father’s Day tomorrow. The skies look full of rain right now, and we are praying it to be so because we did not spend any time watering today. I smell Mexican yumminess from the kitchen as we are having grilled chicken fajitas with ALL the fixings (thanks, Addie Mae!). Looking forward to a quiet evening at home with people I love!!

Hope your week and weekend have been good too! Happy Father’s Day!!
