Together Again

We arrived home around 5:30 p.m. yesterday to a warm meal and lots of love.

Thank you, Kayla, for capturing these sweet photos!

We had a hard long ride home……

074

but are so glad to be here.

076

We have had a good night’s sleep – praise the Lord! Eliza and I were up only once for pain meds.

I have been laying awake for awhile now, having a little chat with Jesus….asking for the strength for these days ahead. My heart is strong, but my body is weary.

Everyone is still sleeping (including Blake, who seems to have the flu as of late last night)…..and the stillness of this place we call HOME is a balm to my soul.

Thank you ALL for your support…the texts, e-mails, phone messages, comments and most of all your prayers. You have blessed us so much.

Heading Home!

This little one’s determination is astounding!

Eliza flew through her PT and OT evaluation. Thanks to that – we are busting out of here later today!

Now the really hard part starts. Once home, we have to manage Eliza’s pain orally, move her around correctly, and lots of healing needs to happen yet.

We would appreciate continued prayers as we care for Eliza on our own at home. And also some quick prayers for the two and a half hour ride in a car seat.

Thank you for praying for us! Such sustaining power your prayers have!

“Hold You, Mama”

The kids visited yesterday! It was a balm to my soul. Thank you, David and Kayla, for bringing everyone!

We are still having some rough times….I sing to Eliza to try to comfort her.

006

I want to hold my sweet girl so bad. Eliza says “Hold you, Mama” all day long, as she wants me to hold her too.

Please pray that as we continue to try to bring Eliza slowly to a sitting position by raising the head of her bed, that she will not experience such extreme pressure in her head from the loss of spinal fluid during surgery. Yesterday as we moved her it broke our hearts to see how much pain she was in. We have to meet this goal (among others) to be able to go home.

Please also continue to pray for my Dad. He is moving back down to a lower level of care, but will still be in the hospital at least seven more days.
