So Many Words

Eight months home.

Three years old.

But so many words!

You are amazing, Miss Eliza!!

**GREAT NEWS from Eliza’s sedated CMG study of her bladder! The surgery to untether her spinal cord in December has given some improvement to the pressure of her bladder as it fills!! Such an answer to our prayers!! Now it’s time to attempt potty training, with the help of a small dose of medication to keep that pressure where it needs to be. PRAISE, PRAISE!!

Sensory Play

Eliza has come SO far with the sensory issues she deals with…but we still incorporate a lot of sensory play into her day!

001

Addie Mae and Lane made some new play-doh without flour in it. It is sticky, but Lane says he likes it better than the gluten-free flour version we usually make.

005

Did you all know that play-doh has wheat in it?

Yes, gluten is everywhere.

Anywhoo…..

Directing Eliza’s activities has been an important thing for her.

011

She really needs consistency, structure, and a schedule.

007

It gives her the security she needs to help her succeed.

002

It also helps when she is coming apart as we can say “remember? we usually do this next…and then that.”

008

It is best if we do not introduce things into Eliza’s world that we cannot continue or cannot do again.

006

It is heart warming to see how hard she is trying to work through touching something like play-doh!

009

010

We are so proud of you sweet, baby! And we will continue to help you succeed!

In Like A Lamb……

….out like a lion.

March, that is.

Doesn’t look like spring out there this morning!

Amazingly, my hubby made it out! We don’t want to be plowed right now, because it has been so warm that the ground underneath is thawed and the plow would scrap all the rock off our lane into the grass.

Looks like a cozy day will be had at home! Thankful for that, as Lane is now sick and was up half the night. Our poor little guy.

Spring? We are ready for SUMMER!!

Hope your day is cozy too!!!
