Rain and Rest

We had a very, very rainy day yesterday.

And I am so thankful for the rain!

We had six dentist appointments in the morning, and six mouths full of happy healthy teeth!

The afternoon was a nice change of pace for us all.

The kids played happily….and Addie and I organized here and there, and cleaned things here and there.

When I heard muffled giggles, I went to investigate.

Do you think they at least organized and cleaned while they were in there?

Me neither.

Praise God for a day of rain and rest!

Life Lately

Our days right now have a pattern.

Feed and water the animals, feed and water the humans, do dishes.

Repeat.

Of course we throw other things like watering the garden, maintaining the land and the house and lots more as well!

We work hard.

But we play hard too!

Of course Eliza is still in need of her goggles.

All. day. long.

In other news, our turkeys arrived.

They are super cute!

Which reminds me, I need to check on those little guys.

There is still a lot of kitchen work, but I have always loved being in the kitchen.

Addie does too.

How many chunky monkeys do you think 84 bananas will make?!

I really counted them!

Made the time it took to peel and freeze them go faster.

He, he.

006

Looks like we will be seeing red here very soon!!

Kayla found this when she was watering the garden this afternoon.

Can’t wait to have a whole bowl full of them!

Life lately has been awesome as usual!!!

Have you heard the guys are going to China soon????!!!!!

Praise, praise, Tate will be home soon!

Many Hands

Saturdays here on the farm bring many hands to help with the work load!

Yesterday was no exception…..and I must say, I LOVE Saturdays.

We even were blessed with Grant’s presence for a few hours in the morning before he headed to work!

I was as excited as the kiddos to see the pool being set up!

I was not excited though when Blake came to find the rest of us to announce that a mouse had eaten a huge hole in the bottom of the pool.

Thank you very much, Mr. Mouse.

Hoping and praying that this patch will hold all summer!

Eliza had a fun day too!! She loves water!

052

And she loves her Daddy being home! We ALL do!!

066

She loves Anaya!

082

And she loves “swing time!”

091

Kayla did not have to work at her job, so she was here working instead and directed the planting of the garden!

I worked with her, and we had many other helpers at different times!

058

David was able to join us in the afternoon!!

Thanks for helping us in the garden, David! And for doing chores! And for cleaning the hen pen! And for sharpening the knives in the kitchen! And for loving our precious daughter the way you do!!

See these beautiful flowers? They will soon be strawberries!

061

David’s sister arrived in the evening, and helped Addie Mae run the kitchen!

They have been painting too!

095

We had chicken fajitas and all the fixings for lunch. Beautiful and yummy!! Couldn’t resist taking this photo!

054

At one point we moved the horses over to one of the newly fenced areas that we have just had the cows on for a couple of weeks.

I love to watch them run and prance when they get excited!

Friday night Blake and I went on a much needed date.

We had a picnic for dinner! On the patio at Starbucks!

And then we had many errands to do. So it was a busy date.

But I loved it anyway.

Addie Mae watched the younger ones for us, and they had a blast playing outside as the sun finally came out right at dinner time!

What a blessed weekend it has been! Life on the farm is super duper – but gets even better when many hands make for lighter work!

Hope your weekend was blessed too!
