Horsing Around

The boys have been heading out to the pastures in the evenings to spend time with the horses.

It is important to build their trust, so we can handle them when we need to!

The gelding, Vic, is still the most unsure of everyone here, but he is warming up too!

Grant hopped on Annie’s back to see if she would let him ride, and she was very easy to ride.

By the time I got the camera and headed out Grant was done riding, but David was riding Annie around.

The horses are really fun to take care of!

And they are so beautiful to watch!

We are so thankful they are here!

I bet the guys will get out the saddles soon and do some real riding.

I wonder if they will get Vic to let them have a ride?

These moments are memories in the making – and good memories too!!

Adoni Acres Family Farm

Addie Mae took some beautiful photos of the farm one evening.

046

They definitely need to be in the next printing of our family scrapbook.

I want to always remember every little detail about this piece of heaven here on earth.

As of yet we do not have a buyer for our farm.

Until we do, we are living life here on Adoni Acres Family Farm to the fullest.

We are enjoying the farm in a new way this spring….with less work and no customers.

074

There is still plenty to take care of, but it is a slower pace that has us relishing in every blessed moment.

Our neighbors, who had the home we were hoping and praying to purchase, needed to list their home for sale so their process of moving could go forward.

Their home sold in just a few days. It was a good place! We are so happy for them!

We are now going forward with Plan B.

We just don’t know what Plan B is yet!

When I think of the unknown of what is next for our family, I can just see God smiling down on us saying, “Just wait till you see what I have planned for you! You are not going to believe it!!”

Because God knows what Plan B is.

And I just love that fact.

Until then, we will gladly call Adoni Acres our home.

And I may just add many more photos of this place to our family scrapbook.

Belated Mother’s Day!

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day!

We are a little late, yes!

It was so worth the wait!

After church, we came home to have a cook out full of yummy food!

Maybe I should not say yummy food since I made all the food yesterday myself!

But it really was yummy!

After lunch was cleaned up, the guys set up our pool as my Mother’s Day gift!

The BEST gift!

The kiddos were SO excited, and it feels like SUMMER here!

Sadie was snoozin’ in the grass too!

She is adorable too!

057

Pretty soon is was time to fill the pool!

Tradition when filling the pool has always been to play in it!

Even though it is freezing cold garden hose water!

It didn’t take them long to be soaked!!!

The rest of us enjoyed this beautiful day but stayed dry!

There was another adorable one taking a nap too!

074

Sadie woke up and was stealing anything and everything she could get into her mouth!

Having a puppy is a blast!

079

I had pretty high expectations for this day.

Expectations can get you!

I am happy to say this day went far beyond my expectations!

A beautiful summer like day spent on the farm with my family.

It was the perfect belated Mother’s Day celebration!!

Hope you all had a great Sunday too!

Planting Time

What a great crew we had in the garden last night!

It is finally planting time!

The weather report looks warmer.

We have had frost twice this week here on the farm.

It dipped down to 20 degrees one night!

We covered the strawberries and they seem to have survived.

We do not know the fate of our apple trees yet, but the leaves on the hostas in our landscape were bit by the frost and are turning colors.

We do live in Wisconsin, after all!

Chad has gotten to be a pro at tilling the garden the last few years!

Team A worked on weeding the strawberries for awhile! Team A included this cutie pie!

Once more big people started arriving home from work, they were Team B!

Team B was much more efficient!

Eliza and I headed in to make dinner for everyone!

And there are no photos of Grant or Blake!

096

094

095

Tate has DEFINITELY done this before! He LOVED being in the dirt and planting the plants!

Kayla says he is our newest pro-gardener!

092

093

So thankful for everyone’s help! I am out numbered here these days! Hopefully the four youngest and I will be able to maintain the garden now! We grass seeded four of the old garden rows, which made it much smaller and more manageable.

After everything was finished outside, we celebrated planting time with strawberries, ice cream and chocolate sauce!

101

It is supposed to feel like summer this weekend!

We are ready for it! I hope you all are too!!

It’s FRIDAY!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
