Twin Oaks

The events of this long weekend have left us feeling so completely humbled.

We could have never imagined how God would write this story – but we know – no matter what – He always writes the BEST ones!

Maybe someday I will be able to share every detail about what God has been doing for us – but for now, I will share part of this story.

Having two offers on the farm a day apart was something we could not have imagined.

After the one offer was signed, we called the owner of that sweet little home on top of that ridge that we loved so much.

We never could have imagined that it would still be for sale.

But it was!

It was still for sale!

We met with the owner and his wife yesterday morning and stood inside that sweet little home.

We gave them our offer, they accepted, and then we spent time together talking about the in and outs of finishing our new home.

We do not have a rental secured anymore because the one we had has been rented and moved in to.

We were looking for options, but did not get any where because of the holiday.

But now we do not need to look any more.

Beyond anything we could have asked or even thought, these sweet generous people have told us that they will finish our new home and get us in there by August 11th so we do not have to move twice.

You all!

We are not worthy!

August 11th is only a mere five weeks and two days away!

The goal is to get the main level finished, and then work on the lower level even if we are already there.

I woke up this morning and my first thought was “Did all this REALLY happen??”

Surely not!

Now you know why we feel so humbled.

We had a fun afternoon yesterday picking out all the finishing touches that our new home will get.

We also named our new place and the little acreage around it.

Before this house was built there, there was a very old farm house on the land, but they were unable to save it.

The land is FULL of beautiful, old, huge trees.

Including these two.

We are going to call the place we will soon call home Twin Oaks.

We think it suits it well!

Please understand, we are very aware that nothing is done until it is done.

But we are going forward in faith.

Please continue to pray with us!

For unity, strength, and that we will shine a bright, bright light to every single person we meet during this transition!

Please also pray for our hearts as we pack up Adoni Acres family farm, because leaving here is still going to be very, very hard.

We are SO thankful to each one of you who has reached out to us right now to encourage us and more thankful for your prayers!

Blessings to you all!!

We love you!!

Chad’s Turn

This past Friday night it was Chad’s turn to join Blake and I on date night!

I look forward to these one-on-one times SO much!

Chad and I headed to town in the early evening.

We ran to Sam’s Club to finish up the grocery shopping, stuck it all in a huge cooler in the trunk of the van, and then headed to pick out ice cream for our snack time at the coffee shop!

Blake caught up with us at Sam’s.

This boy is a GEM.

In all the ways.

But he is an exact clone of his Dad – so that would be why!

While sipping our coffee, we researched how to build a shed, which is something we hope to do at our new home.

The boys will enjoy a big project like that and learn SO much!

After the coffee shop, my two guys got the idea to go and ride in the truck simulator at Blake’s work.

It was super fun!!

But it made me feel nauseous!!

Blake would program which truck Chad would be driving, what roads he was on, what weather conditions there were, and all kinds of other fun things!

Then I took a turn, in a delivery truck in the city.

I was doing great until Blake let the pressure out of my tires!

After that, we headed to pick up a few more things that were needed – like shoe laces.

You know, the important stuff!

It was a blessed date night!

Memories in the making for sure!!

Next up is Addie Mae!!

I bet we head back to that simulator, because that girl would LOVE it!

And There Goes June

Our precious River Salem was born four weeks ago already!

It was just May, I am sure of it.

And now it’s July!

June has been full and blessed!

Addie Mae has been helping at Kayla’s quite a bit on the days when she is not at work.

Friday she took Lane with her to help out too!

They enjoyed themselves a lot!

Last week we did some summer school activities, and it filled our mornings full of all good things.

We did a little review and drills, and then an hour read aloud time.

We finished out with our group Bible time and prayers.

Last week was super chilly!

And rather cloudy and rainy some of the days!

We are ready to swim again!

It looks like it will warm up this week and next!

There is always lots and lots of other very normal things going on around here!

Like meal prep….with cute helpers.

Thanks, Lane, for making the spaghetti and the sauce!

Laundry, of course.

Lots of laundry.

You know what is SO amazing about that photo?

The CD player.

It may look like a CD player to you, but to us it represents SO much more.

It shows healing.

My brain could not function in background noise before.

But then I had CBT treatments, remember?

Now I seek out music to listen to!

It’s a big deal around here – and not lost on us one bit.

Something else that is never lost on us is how much this precious boy can do.

He never thinks he can’t do something, and he just goes after life with such determination!

It is inspiring to watch.

These two are always together.

Love how God knew they need each other!

Eliza’s orthopedic surgeon appointment to schedule her hip surgery unexpectedly was changed to July 17th.

Time is a gift!

Tate’s physical therapist got Tate approved for 50 visits yet this year, even though they go to our $3500 deductible!!

Tate has a speech evaluation this Wednesday, and from what I understand so far, it does not look like we will have coverage for that.

But we are working on it, so time will tell.

This weekend we had three showings in a row!

I have an amazing team to help get and keep this place in shape!

We backed our way out of the house and found places to go during the showings.

During dinner on Thursday, we went to River’s place!

Friday morning we headed to the Coop and then the library!

During Saturday’s showing Grant took the middles to run errands, and the littles and I headed back to River’s place!

I might have held that precious new grand baby the entire time!

David even made me an iced coffee while I sat there snuggling River!

We received an offer on Friday night and then another one on Saturday!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

We accepted one of those offers, and now are starting to pack up the house again and sell all of the rest of the stuff that needs sold.

We are going forward in faith!

We know that your prayers have made all the difference!

Thank you SO much for praying for us!

If you would continue to join us in prayer as we try to finalize our plans going forward, we would be so grateful!

Going Forward With Faith

It’s been a busy weekend!

We had not one, but two offers on the farm! We have accepted one of those offers…..and are going forward with faith to prepare to move. The plan is to close in less than six weeks, on August 11th.

We can not thank you all enough for your prayers! We know they have made all the difference!!
